In Progress
These are a few of the projects I'm working on now. 'Working' as in 'Not finished yet.' Sort of a quick listen in to my creation process.
- Electronic
-
I'm pretty sure I didn't set out intending to create a dumbed-down version of Swtiched-On Bach... This will probably end up as an intro to something quite a bit louder and less refined.
-
- Orchestral Drama
-
Slow-tempo piano, strings, horn, and woodwinds. Kind of angsty.
-
Rubato piano and strings in a lightweight arrangement. Kind of obviously wistful.
-
Another of my cinematic after-a-long-painful-struggle-everyone-dies-anyway series. Orchestra. Mood: Dark, warlike.
-
The latest cinematic orchestral piece in my after-a-long-painful-struggle-everyone-dies-anyway series. Orchestration needs to be thinned for clarity.
-
A cinematic orchestral piece in my new not-everyone-dies series.
-
Friendly, slightly wistful cinematic orchestral tune. Reminiscent of traditional Irish music. Orchestration still needs some work.
-
Derivative, overwrought cinematic orchestral theme. Tries to be inspiring but lacks a compelling motif. There are some pretty bits in the middle and at the end. And I really like the subtle harp glissandos, even if I overuse them.
-
- Contemporary
-
Very mellow, guitar-centric rock.
-
Shuffle-funk rock and roll. Sort of a Jeff Beck-esque extended jam.
-
Long, evolving, art rock. Starts with tension, adds tension, then adds more tension, and then finally resolves—but not happily. No, I take that back; it never really resolves at all.
-
Early sketch of a contemporary blue tune. The guitar and horns are still wandering a bit.
-
Soft, 80s-Phil-Collins pop rock. Kinda goes on a bit; nothing interesting happens until about 2:00 in. And it still needs a solo.
-
Kind of Alan Parsons Project meets Supertramp meets Manfred Mann meets EDM. I guess....
