Explorations
This page is mostly me exploring different styles of music. Practical applications of music theory (Thank you Mr. Halversen!), pointless excursions into smooth jazz, and a bizarre experiment in electronic funk pop... something..

This started life as a homework assignment. Given a two-bar motif, we were supposed to write a few measures of motivic variation. I sort of over-delivered.

This was the follow-up homework assignment. Write your own two-bar motif, and then apply mitivic variation. I went for a very different style.

SATB chorus singing only vowels. It's a pun. I can't believe I had to explain that....

Four-part soft jazz. Sax, piano, bass and drums.
-
An energetic smooth jazz piece. Keyboards, drums, bass, and sax.
-
Sort of synth noir. I really like the sax line. So much that I'm kind of sorry I take so long getting to it.
-
Another energetic smooth-jazz piece.
-
Pretty standard energetic smooth jazz. Almost cliche, really.

Really, I just don't know how else you would classify this. It started out as funk, then got a bunch of electronic layers, then disco. And cheese. Lots of cheese.
